Beyond the manual and Support, there are a few ways to connect with other operators and the WP2 team, and to contribute back to the project.

NBIS Slack

WP2 — the team that operates the servers hosting the BigPicture datasets you submit to — offers help on the nbisweden.slack.com Slack workspace, in addition to the Support channels.

Precondition: access must be requested

The workspace is not open sign-up. Request an invite via bp-ops — the same contact used in Support.

Reporting issues

Filing an issue is itself a form of community participation — it surfaces a problem for other operators before they hit it, and it’s how the pipeline and this manual improve. The trackers to use, and what belongs on each, are listed under Reporting issues in Support.

mappers.xlsx sharing

Every site currently authors its own mappers.xlsx from scratch, even though many sites map the same local short codes (common stains, specimen types, preparation methods) to the same BigPicture coded attributes.

Not yet available

Cross-site sharing of mappers.xlsx mappings doesn’t exist yet. It’s tracked upstream as bp-submission-pipeline milestone mappers.xlsx community sharing — this section documents the intent, not a working feature. Once it ships, this page will link to the how-to.
