Support

If you get stuck while following the manual, here is where to turn.

Looking for a quick answer instead of contacting someone? Check the FAQ first — it collects the recurring questions and errors from across the manual.

Get help

Pick the route that matches your problem — they reach different teams.

  • bp-submission-pipeline — bugs, confusing steps, or unexpected behaviour: open an issue on imi-bigpicture/bp-submission-pipeline. This is the primary route: it reaches the people who maintain the pipeline, and the answer stays visible to the next operator who hits the same thing. If you cannot use GitHub, email the servicedesk instead and it will be picked up from there.
  • Server or data-archive issues — the BigPicture inbox, the upload endpoints, or the archive your datasets land in: email bp-ops, the WP2 team that operates those servers.
  • General and technical support, and access requests: servicedesk.

When you ask, include

To get a useful answer quickly, tell us:

  • Which manual step you were on — the letter and name, e.g. F. TLS + credentials — and the exact command you ran.
  • The output you got versus what the Verify box said to expect.
  • Your operating system (Windows / macOS / Linux).

Reporting issues

Filing an issue is itself a form of community participation — it surfaces a problem for other operators before they hit it, and it’s how the pipeline and this manual improve. If you hit a bug, a confusing step, or a gap in the documentation, file it against the project that owns whatever broke:

  • Pipeline behaviour (the bp-submission-pipeline stack, its Make targets, or one of its bundled components): open an issue on imi-bigpicture/bp-submission-pipeline.
  • sda-cli (the upload client used by the direct path, and by the pipeline under the hood): open an issue on NBISweden/sda-cli.
  • This manual (missing steps, unclear instructions, broken links): open an issue on NBISweden/bp-sweden-web.

Include what you were trying to do, the exact command or page, and what you expected versus what happened — the same detail listed under When you ask, include above.

Out of scope

Support covers the submission pipeline itself. Custom data transformations and your own infrastructure setup are outside what these channels can troubleshoot.
